Sinton made his debut for QPR in 1989, going on to make over 190 appearances for the club. He moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 1993 for £2.75 million, a then club record. After three years in Yorkshire, Sinton returned to London, where he played 99 times for Tottenham, before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1999. Sinton earned 12 England caps during a career that saw him play over 670 club games.
