Bridge made his debut for Southampton in 1998 and went on to make over 170 appearance for his club. He then moved to Chelsea for £7 million, where his finest moment came in a Champions League quarter final against Arsenal in 2003-2004, scoring the winning goal at Highbury to see Chelsea qualify for the semi-finals. Bridge played 36 times for England, scoring one goal.
